On Thursday 29th November 2018 the seventh edition of International Cosmic Day will take place: students from all around the world will participate to activities concerning Cosmic Ray Physics, guided by researchers working in this field. The initiative is organized by the Desy Research Center, and involves an ever increasing number of students coming from schools all around the world. The Centro Fermi will participate this year to International Cosmic Day, with the aim to replicate the success of the past edition: 550 students of Extreme Energy Events Project, coming from 47 Italian High schools, have analyzed millions of cosmic tracks. During the International Cosmic Day the EEE students will meet in 10 locations chosen by the Centro Fermi, under the supervision of the EEE researchers.
The activity will begin with a meeting between all the participants, during which Prof. L. Cifarelli will give a welcome message, and the EEE researcher will explain the analysis to be performed. Afterward, the students will analyse data collected by means of the EEE telescope, with the aim to extract the angular distribution of secondary cosmic rays. Finally they will discuss the obtained results with other schools participating to the ICD. In this way, our students could share their experience in EEE with other students from all around the world, and discuss about scientific results as usually happens in the scientific research field. For further information the initiative website https://icd.desy.de/ can be consulted, where the map of the participating institutions can be found.
