The national contest of 16th Italian Astronomy Olympiad took place from 18th to 20th April 2018 in Bari. On April 19th, 80 students (14 to 17 years old) from Italian high schools took part to the competition at the Liceo Scientifico “A.Scacchi”, that is involved from many years in the EEE Project. While students were doing their theory and experiment exam, their teachers spent the morning at the “Castello Svevo” in Bari, listening to some specific lectures. Prof.ssa Marina Muscarella (on behalf of EEE team of Liceo “Scacchi”) talked about the aim and the mission of the EEE Project and the original contribution of the Liceo Sacchi during the last years. Prof.ssa Ginevra Trinchieri (President of SAIt – Società Astronomica Italiana), Prof. Flavio Fusi Pecci (Vicepresidente SAIt), Dr. Edvige Mastrantuono and Prof.ssa Virginia Placido (MIUR) attended the lecture and was enthusiastic about EEE. Competitors at the Liceo “Scacchi”, during the lunch break, were introduced to the EEE laboratory at school by some students of the last year. The project has aroused a lot of interest from the young ones, the teachers, and the same representatives of the SAIt. EEE is a great way to put in direct contact schools, students and teachers each other and with the world of scientific research.
