Within the “Extreme Energy Events – Science inside schools” (EEE) project, Liceo Casiraghi in Cinisello Balsamo (Milano) is carrying out an advanced and stimulating program in its Physics Lab. Under teacher’s supervision, students assembled few “Cloud chambers”, small gas detectors able to track cosmic rays crossing the chamber volume acting as a magnifying glass for elementary particle. More sophisticated detectors allow the young scientists to detect and study natural radioactivity of surrounding materials. During last year, activities extended to data analysis of the large array of EEE telescopes distributed over the whole Italian territory. Supported by researcher from Centro Fermi, CERN and INFN, the school is also considering a crowdfunding to contribute to the installation of a telescope inside the institute. In collaboration with the University of Milano Bicocca, Physics Lab’s students (about 40 young “researchers” 16-18 years old) will have the chance to attend to scientific conferences, establishing a first contact with professional research.
