Run Coordination Meetings are monthly online gatherings involving hundreds of students connected from all over Italy.
During this RCM, Kristian Piscicchia, an expert in the development of theoretical/phenomenological models for the interpretation of precision X-ray spectroscopy data in Quantum Mechanics and Nuclear Physics, delivered a talk focused on a general overview of the topics that led John Clarke, Michel H. Devoret, and John M. Martinis to win the 2025 Nobel Prize in Physics—particularly the discovery of macroscopic quantum tunneling and the quantization of energy in an electrical circuit. Prior to this talk, the Liceo Federico II di Svevia in Altamura presented work centered on measuring the flux of cosmic rays at ground level in relation to atmospheric pollution using a Cosmic Box.
