The Masterclass is structured in two parts: a theoretical introduction and a hands-on practical session. Primary and secondary cosmic rays are presented, with particular emphasis on Extensive Air Showers (EAS).
The first part concludes with a focus on muons and on the measurements carried out using the Cosmic Box in Erice in May 2018, thereby preparing the students for the subsequent practical exercise.
