INTERNATIONAL COSMIC DAY (November 6, 2019)
The 8th edition of the International Cosmic Day, the most popular outreach event in the field of cosmic rays organized by the Desy research center, is approaching. Also this year the students of the Extreme Energy Events Project will join the initiative, going to the 10 Italian sites selected for this activity, where they will be welcomed by the EEE researchers. The event will start with a video connection among all the EEE participants, to attend a general lesson on cosmic rays, followed by a video message from Professor Giovanni Losurdo, INFN physicist and Project Leader of Advanced VIRGO. In the second part of the morning students will analyze data from the EEE telescopes to study the arrival directions of cosmic muons. The obtained results will be presented to the other national and international schools participating to the ICD. As regularly happens in the scientific research field, students will have the opportunity to share their experience gained in the EEE Project with students from other countries, exchanging information on their work. For more information, visit the event website, where you can find the world map of participants to the 8th edition of the ICD.
