The EEE Project Study Days for Central Italy schools took place in Grosseto on April 15-16, involving 20 schools and 62 students and teachers, plus researchers and Centro Fermi board members supporting Prof. Antonino Zichichi’s initiative for over 12 years.
Held in Grosseto’s Municipal Council chamber, the meeting was greeted by Mayor Emilio Bonifazi and Polo Manetti-Porciatti Principal Antonella Baffetti, chaired by Centro Fermi President Luisa Cifarelli and Research Director Rosario Nania. It reviewed EEE Project status and inaugurated Grosseto’s second telescope at ITG Manetti. Students from Lazio, Marche, and Tuscany presented monitoring devices and cosmic ray studies.
Four hands-on Masterclasses by young Centro Fermi researchers introduced data access methods (Daniele De Gruttola), cosmic shower simulations (Fabrizio Coccetti), solar variations (Ivan Gnesi), and high-energy coincidences (Federico Pilo). Materials will soon support all EEE schools in network data analysis, with researcher tutoring available.
This second of three meetings (after Bologna 2015, before Bari 2016) marks the end of Run 2 with over 20 billion cosmic muon tracks, gearing up for ambitious Run 3 amid enthusiasm from students, teachers, and researchers.
