On Friday, April 20th, at the ITIS “Cannizzaro” in Colleferro (Rome), Dr. Daniele De Gruttola researcher of Centro Fermi, held a seminar entitled “Extreme Energy Events: cosmic rays and science in the hearts of young people”. The seminar was included in the third edition of the “Week of Dissemination of Scientific and Technological Culture”, an event organized by the Cannizzaro Institute that took place from 16 th to 21th April. The seminar was attended by over two hundred students from the “Lyceum of Applied Sciences” and the students of the Technical Institute enrolled in the “Chemistry, Materials and Biotechnology” area, already taking part in the EEE project. In less than an hour, Dr. De Gruttola introduced some basic concepts of the Standard Model of particles, spoke of cosmic rays and, briefly describing how research is carried out at CERN in Geneva, he described the EEE Project. At the end of the seminar,he answered the questions the students asked him, ranging from the energy of cosmic rays to the revelation of dark matter.
