The EEE telescope at Enrico Fermi Scientific High School in Paternò is now operational, thanks to support from INFN Catania technicians (Francesco Librizzi and Antonio Grimaldi), the University (Orazio Parasole), the reference teacher (Prof. Di Mauro), and all students involved in the project.

This marks the fourth EEE telescope in Sicily, following those in Trapani and the two in Catania. Teachers and students have actively joined EEE Project activities through lessons, seminars, and lab work. Guided telescope visits were organized during the school’s Scientific Week (November 23-28, 2015), including the inauguration attended by INFN Catania Section Director Prof. Antonio Insolia, regional EEE referents Prof. Francesco Riggi and Dr. Paola La Rocca, and local authorities.

At the close of the school year, the high school hosted Prof. Antonino Zichichi, EEE Project founder, who delivered an engaging seminar titled “The Frontiers of Physics as Seen from Cosmic Rays.” The enthusiasm shown by participating students fully confirms the project’s educational value: as teachers and students state, “joining this reality—with its extensive network of telescopes engaging a significant number of students across Italian schools—flatters and fills us with pride.”
